I was born in Dublin and lived in Rome and London before settling in Edinburgh. I now live in the East Lothian seaside village of Cockenzie. Living close to the sea in a vibrant and lively place is inspiring.

I studied art at Duncan of Jordanstone,Dundee and the National College of Art (NCAD),Dublin, went on an Erasmus exchange to Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design and completed a one-year Advanced Painting course at the Leith School of Art. Each type of art training inspired me to explore new materials and methods and it was a wonderful experience learning about and making art in the various creative environments.

I joined Coburg Art Studios in 2009 and exhibit my work at Open Studios in August and December each year as well as in galleries in East Lothian and Edinburgh.

Working from sketches, photographs, found objects, memories and imagination, I use mixed media to build up layers of paint or print then draw into and/or scrape these back finding and losing shapes and wrestling a picture out of the process.
